Philly's Friends is a Local Newfoundland pet sitting and dog walking community that's committed to matching reliable, trustworthy pet sitters, visitors, and walkers with local pet parents.

We make sure your pet is having just as much of a vacation as you.

Philly's Friends was established by former teacher, Rena Hutchings and her husband Rod in 2015. Philly was their family dog who accepted each visitor as his friend and part of the pack.

Philly's Friends is dedicated to ensuring each pet sitter and dog walker has passed a comprehensive background check and are a suitable match for your pets. It's our commitment to take the stress out of your travel plans, giving you a reliable place to find help -- no more Facebook searches or begging family members!

We offer pet sitting, visits/check-ins, and walking services. Sign up for Philly's Friends knowing your pet is well taken care of and a beloved part of our pack.

How It Works

Pet Parents

Philly's Friends has been around for nearly a decade run by experienced pet-sitters and dog-walkers. We work one-on-one with each of our pet parents ensuring all their pets' needs are taken care of.

How we care for you and your pet:

Pain-free scheduling; once we match you with your sitter/walker, we make sure they are available on the dates and times requested. If any scheduling conflicts arise, we provide back-up. You'll never be left without a sitter/walker once you've signed up with Philly's Friends.
Option of check-ins at your home or hosting your pets with your sitter. Sometimes our pet parent members require house-sitting services as well.
Updates with pictures - it's hard to be away from your pets! Our sitters and walkers are required to update you with pictures and a message on how things are going at your chosen frequency.
You have the final say; meet your walker or sitter ahead of your travel or walk date to decide if they're the right fit for you and your pet.

Your commitment:

1. Pay per service administrative fee - $50 per service + pet sitting fees (due upon return home)

2. Pay per year service fee - $100 per year + pet sitting fees (due upon return home)

Services available once a member:

Unlimited; House + Pet Sitting, Pet Sitting at Sitter's House, Pet check-ins, Dog walking.

Walkers & Visitors

Walkers & Visitors will be required to pass an interview and background check before being paired with a pet.

Philly's Friends will handle all administrative tasks, scheduling and payments.

All these benefits are covered by your membership of $50. Your walking fee is set by you.

Pet Sitters

Pet Sitters will be required to pass an interview and background check before being paired with a pet.

Philly's Friends will handle all administrative tasks, scheduling and payments.
